Finalization of Iranian LNG Exports with European Company

TEHRAN (PIN) - Technical and financial aspects of the Lavan gas field has been finalized with a European company, where an Iranian delegation will go to Europe to officially sign a contract regarding natural gas or LNG sales, a gas official said.

In an interview with PIN, MD of Iran Offshore Oilfields Company, Mahmood Zirakchian, said that there would be 4 million tons of LNG exports to Europe every year after ongoing discussions were successful with a European company.

MD of IOOC continued: The European company has obtained state permit to participate in the project in Iran. The MPD of Lavan field has been prepared and all technical and financial aspects have been completely agreed on.

Zirakchian also commented that all requirements of the contractor company for the Siri NGL project has been fulfilled. The NGL project has become active since the beginning of the year and will continue activities to next year which includes collection of 140 million cubic feet of gas per day as well as other gas condensates burnt up at the site of Siri Island. Through the completion of the project and estimated $110 million of income will be provided for IRI.

The Siri Island gas will then be transferred to Kish and Gheshm Islands after the sweetening process. Through the execution of this project, an expected 140 mln cf/d of gas will be prevented from burning off in the Siri operation area.

After completion and utilization of the NGL plant in Siri Island, 841 tons of propane, 328 tons of butane, 361 barrels of pentane and 1250 barrels of gas condensates will be produced per day. There is also a plan to export part of the products of the plant. There will also be storage approximately 110,000 cubic meters of products in the future.
