Mirkazemi: oil industry privatization is under way

TEHRAN (Shana): Iran’s minister of petroleum says implementation of the article 44 of the constitution is under way noting that by complete implementation of the article, oil refineries and oil products distribution companies will be privatized.

Speaking to reporters at the inauguration ceremony of a new fuel smart card system center on Monday, the Dr. Masoud Mirkazemi expressed hope that by expanding infrastructures and data storing centers, necessary support to be provided for private sector to run the system.

Mirkazemi added that running the activities through virtual means is one of the important characteristics of the flexible organizations and said: expanding IT and virtual networks accelerates doing things and improves the system of organizations.

Noting that by launching new fuel smart card system center in Oil Distribution Company, the capacity for storing data increases, the minister of petroleum stressed that the country faces no restriction to supply different kind of fuels through fuel smart card system.

According to Mirkazemi by commisioning of the new fuel smart card system center, there is the possibility to process more data, to store data on vehicles and gas stations more efficient and provide better management reports.

He also expressed hope that the possibility of providing services at CNG stations through smart cards to be realized in near future.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the miniter of petroleum said up to now, 1000 fuel stations of the country are equipped with online electronic payment by which vehicles spend less time in the stations.
